STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Heavy snow likely contributed to a crash between an SUV and a Steamboat Springs transit bus that seriously injured one person.
The Colorado State Patrol says the driver of a 1992 Ford Explorer on U.S. Highway 40 just west of Steamboat Springs Tuesday afternoon lost control on the snowy and slushy roadway, veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the bus. The Explorer driver was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
The bus driver and five of her passengers were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
