Denver police have recovered rifles and other merchandise stolen from a Bass Pro Shops store and arrested a man suspected of burglary and theft.
Michael Contreras, 21, is also accused of reckless endangerment at the outfitter’s Northfield Stapleton location.
Contreras was arrested Tuesday night in the 4900 block of N. Perth Street where officers were responding to a report of shots fired.
“The investigation led officers to a home in that block where officers recovered all the firearms and additional merchandise reported stolen from Bass Pro Shops,” police said in a Thursday news release.
Police say they are still working to identify another suspect in the break-in.
Prosecutors are expected to determine what charges will be filed against Contreras once an investigation into the case is complete.
Anyone with further information about the burglary is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
