Classical music: Free music, on your lunch hour
Tuesdays in april. The lobby at the downtown skyscraper known as 1801 California is one of the best-looking indoor spaces around, cavernous and covered in Italian marble. In April, it’s also one of the best-sounding as its landlord, Brookfield Office Properties, presents a series of free, lunchtime classical concerts, organized by Denver’s Friends of Chamber Music. The lineup is seriously impressive: April 5, Altius Quartet; April 12, Patterson/Sutton Duo; April 19, Persephone Quartet; April 26, Spinphony. At one hour long, it’s about as convenient as the performing arts get. The concerts start at noon at 1801 California. friends . — Ray Mark Rinaldi
