Organizers of Denver’s extended winter have privately apologized after numerous complaints that it was too darn windy, snowy and cold for what should already be spring.
Mayor Michael Hancock was not sought out for comment because he really didn’t have anything to do with the so-called winter extension.
But over the next several days it will feel like spring along the Front Range.
After several days of snow and 40 mph wind gusts along the Front Range, Denver’s weather will encourage flowers to blossom and bumblebees to buzz.
The skies over the plains will be sunny, according to the National Weather Service, and so temperatures can begin to rise from the below-freezing dawn on Friday of about 29 degrees to 46 degrees in the afternoon.
It will get even warmer on the weekend when temperatures are expected to climb to about 63 degrees on Saturday and 64 by Sunday.
The warming trend will continue on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures rising to 68 degrees, according to the NWS.
The low temperature will stay above freezing on Monday, when it is expected to drop to a low of around 41 degrees.
