Douglas County authorities have identified the 65-year-old man inside a burned building west of Castle Rock.

The county coroner’s office said Thursday John Sylvester owned the structure.

Fire crews were called to the scene in the 2900 block of Oakland Drive about 2 a.m. on Sunday where they found the fully engulfed structure between a house and a large barn.

The county sheriff’s office says while there is no indication of criminal activity, Sylvester’s cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Detective Williamson at 303-660-7084.
