Getting your player ready...

By the time Colorado Rockies’ right hander Jordan Lyles hurls the first pitch against the San Diego Padres at Coors Field at 2:10 p.m., it will be sunny but not too hot or windy.

Fans will be basking under clear skies and temperatures in the mid-60s, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Just about ideal baseball weather.

“It’s going to be a nice day,” said Kyle Fredin, NWS meteorologist.

Soft winds are expected in the 8 to 10 mph range through the day, with a chance of an occasional westerly gust up to 16 mph when the Colorado Rockies are at bat to give a baseball that extra boost over Coors’ new fences.

It will get even warmer on Saturday, with a high of 72 degrees, with a 20 percent chance that rain will interrupt the Rockies night game.

On Sunday, there is a much greater chance that the storm will cause a rain delay for the first time of the 2016 baseball season.

NWS forecasters give rain a 50 percent chance of dampening the third game in the series against the Padres at 2:10 p.m.

Still, it should be warm with a high of 68 degrees on Sunday in Denver. There is a 70 percent chance for rain Sunday night.

It’s a good thing there is no Rockies game scheduled on Monday, when rain and snow is likely on a day the high will only be 55 degrees. Thunder could accompany snow on Monday.

By Tuesday, there is a slight chance that showers and thunderstorms will interrupt the first of three Rockies games against the San Francisco Giants, set to begin at 6:40 p.m.

But it will be almost 10 degrees warmer at 64 degrees.

The forecast promises to get hotter Wednesday.

It could be 69 degrees by the time of the second game against the Giants, but there is also a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday, for game three of the Giants’ series, it will be another ideal day for baseball, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 74 degrees.
