Glendale police are searching for an assault-style rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition that were stolen late last month from a party attended mainly by Denver high school students.
Authorities said Monday that the Knights Armament firearm, fitted with an Trijicon ACOG optical scope, was taken on March 28.
The party was filled with East High School students, police say.
Investigators believe the stolen rifle is a public safety threat.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 729-913-7867. Tipsters are eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
