
A Denver jury returned a guilty verdict late Thursday in the shooting death of a woman at an East Colfax motel last summer.
Brandon Foote, 30, was found guilty of first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary.
when Denver police responded to a report of several shots fired at the Sage and Sand Motel at 8415 E. Colfax Ave.
Police found the victim, Camille Harrell, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds a block away. She was later pronounced dead.
Prosecutors , broke into the motel room of Harrell’s sister, and that Foote shot and killed Harrell after a confrontation.
Following a seven-day trial, the jury took one day to deliberate before returning the guilty verdict, according to a news release from the Denver district attorney’s office.
The other woman who was with Foote, Merita Curry-Swanson, 36, is scheduled to stand trial in June and also faces first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary charges.
Foote is scheduled for sentencing on June 3. He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.
