Mother’s Day: The Pump and Dump’s comedy therapy

Saturday. Denver’s nationally touring Pump and Dump show has built its success on a refreshing brand of mom-comedy that avoids bland, family-friendly platitudes for sardonic, biting insight. The return of their “Mother’s Day Eve” show on Saturday, featuring jokes and songs from Shayna Ferm and MC Doula (Tracy Tee), offers sets at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. as well as a 10:15 “Pump It” dance party for those with trustworthy babysitters. Tickets for the comedy, music, prizes, drinking, swearing and “parental commiseration” are $25 at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 S. Broadway in Englewood. 888-929-7849 or .
