Castle Rock has set July 26 as the date of a special recall election of Mayor Paul Donahue, with voters in District 1 getting the chance to decide whether the mayor stays or goes.
The town council set the date for the election, which will be conducted by mail ballot, at its Tuesday meeting. Only those living in the district Donahue represents, which includes the western side of The Meadows neighborhood, are permitted to vote.
. Petitioners have argued that the Douglas County town is not managing its growth well and that some town leaders are not listening to constituents.
A . Ballots for the special election will be mailed out in July.
