Now that summer’s just around the corner, people are gearing up to do yoga outdoors, and there are lots of choices for tackling everything from power yoga to vinyasa surrounded by natural beauty.
Yoga Rocks the Park
This year will be the eighth season for at Sunken Gardens Park in Denver, which opens May 29 with Jack Cuneo of Kindness Yoga as yoga instructor and music by DJ SunDragon.
Check-in starts at 8 a.m., followed by a guided mindfulness meditation for world peace at 8:30 a.m.
The all-levels class starts at 9 a.m., and there’s also a separate Kids Camp. Admission is free or by donation.
After opening day, there will be seven more of these events during the season of warmth: June 5 and 26; July 10; Aug. 21 and 28; Sept. 11 and 18.

Yoga at the Gardens
The backdrop is Denver Botanic Gardens, morning and evening.
starts at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and evening vinyasa yoga is every Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.
Both hour-long classes that cost $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Bring yoga mat and water to both.
And there’s a special class called “Vinyasa, Violins and Vino” on Thursday June 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
It starts with an hour-long class in the Gardens by Blake Burger, certified instructor and Gardens’ horticulturist, and ends with a bring-your-own picnic (wine and beer are allowed) and music performance. Cost is $18.
Yoga on The Rocks
CorePower Yoga and the River will host eight sunrise power vinyasa classes for up to 2,000 people at Red Rocks this summer, from June 4 through Aug. 20.
Each class is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and you need to bring water and a yoga mat.
Tickets are $12 per session, or$44 for a four-pack of classes.

Yoga at Chautauqua Park
PowerFit Yoga, held in Boulder’s historic Chautauqua Park, is a style of yoga that blends yoga, Pilates and sports conditioning with poses that often include dumbbells.
This summer, the five-week yoga camps meet two mornings a week — Tues. and Thurs. for 70 minutes starting at 7:15 a.m. — and the cost per series ranges from $105 to $149.

Yoga in the mountains
The Wanderlust Aspen-Snowmass mindful living festival brings yoga to Snowmass Village from June 30 through July 3. There are yoga sessions for all skill levels with a wide range of styles, from yin to vinyasa, plus meditation sessions and the music that’s the core of the festival, including DJ-powered yoga classes. The lineup of celebrity teachers ranges from Rod Stryker to Seane Corn.
A one-day ticket ranges from $90 to $150, and a four-day ticket is $425. Visit for more information.
