Getting your player ready...

Rapids fans have enjoyed a 5-0-0 start this season at home. Rockies fans have endured a 4-10 start at Coors Field through May 10, 2016. (The Denver Post file)

This is probably one of the more bizarre stats I’ve come across in a while.

Yesterday, I was working on this season and realized that the Rapids have won more home games (5) this season than the Colorado Rockies (4). Let me remind you, it’s May 11.

Rapids fans seemed to like the stat — after all, the Rapids are a perfect 5-0-0 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park this year after winning only five of 17 home games last year.

Rockies fans, I would imagine, did not appreciate me pointing out that — but I didn’t hear back from any Rockies fans directly.

I did receive a tweet from one person who is a fan of both the Rapids and Rockies… he didn’t quite know how to feel about it.

As a fan of both teams I’m not sure whether to be happy or sad about this.

The Rockies, who have lost seven straight at Coors Field, could move into a tie with their fifth home win of the season today. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m.

Should the Rockies win, the Rapids would have a chance to inch back ahead if they can defeat Sporting Kansas City tonight at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
