Larimer County authorities confirmed Thursday that a body was that of a missing homeless man.
The county coroner’s office said 47-year-old David Bowling’s cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
Bowling’s body was found Wednesday morning in a private Loveland pond near where his personal belongings were discovered last week.
On May 5, items belonging to Bowling were located in the pond’s vicinity after investigators say they received information Bowling possibly was distraught, which raised concerns about his safety.
The county sheriff’s office said Bowling — whom authorities believe is homeless — last communicated with a family member via text message on May 3. A search after the items were discovered did not return any further information on his disappearance.
Anyone with information on Bowling’s case is asked to call Larimer County Sheriff’s Office at 970-416-1985.
