Protecting the beer. Someone broke the window of a man’s room at the Travelodge at 14200 E. Sixth Ave. on April 30 and then ran away without entering the room, according to a witness. The victim was not in his room during the incident, so the owner moved his only possession — a bucket of beer — to storage for safe keeping.

Drug store heist. Two men and two women went to the Walgreens at 15310 E. Colfax Ave. on April 28 and started filling a cart full of about $160 worth of random merchandise. After a while, they ran out, threw all of the things in a car and escaped.

Repeat soda thief. The manager of the Tokyo Joe’s at 6775 S. Cornerstar Way called police April 28 because an unknown woman went in there every day and filled a McDonald’s cup with soda and left in her car without paying. Offices went to the woman’s house and gave her a ticket.

False accusations. Police were called to the 1900 block of South Xanadu Way on April 18 after a woman said her children stole money from her purse. Officers confirmed it was a false report.

Swiped from the porch. A man reported May 3 that someone stole a package containing two new cellphones off his front porch in the 11900 block of East 17th Avenue.

Wild child. A woman called police on her teenage son May 1 because he punched a hole in the bathroom door during an argument at their home in the 2000 block of South Oswego Court. The teen ran away when police showed up.
