
1 Protecting the beer. Someone broke the window of a man’s room at the Travelodge at 14200 E. Sixth Ave. on April 30 and then ran away without entering the room, according to a witness. The victim was not in his room during the incident, so the owner moved his only possession — a bucket of beer — to storage for safe keeping.
2 Drug store heist. Two men and two women went to the Walgreens at 15310 E. Colfax Ave. on April 28 and started filling a cart full of about $160 worth of random merchandise. After a while, they ran out, threw all of the things in a car and escaped.
3 Repeat soda thief. The manager of the Tokyo Joe’s at 6775 S. Cornerstar Way called police April 28 because an unknown woman went in there every day and filled a McDonald’s cup with soda and left in her car without paying. Offices went to the woman’s house and gave her a ticket.
4 False accusations. Police were called to the 1900 block of South Xanadu Way on April 18 after a woman said her children stole money from her purse. Officers confirmed it was a false report.
5 Swiped from the porch. A man reported May 3 that someone stole a package containing two new cellphones off his front porch in the 11900 block of East 17th Avenue.
6 Wild child. A woman called police on her teenage son May 1 because he punched a hole in the bathroom door during an argument at their home in the 2000 block of South Oswego Court. The teen ran away when police showed up.
