Hit-and-run DUI gets worse. An unidentified driver was arrested May 5 in the 19600 block of Clubhouse Drive, Parker, after allegedly hitting another vehicle and fleeing. When police caught up with the driver, they also charged that person with driving under the influence with children in the car.

Scammer doubles down. Police responded to the Bank of America, 9385 Hepburn St., Highlands Ranch, on March 24 because an account holder there was victimized by a scam. The woman was threatened with arrest over the phone if she did not pay $2,900 in taxes she supposedly didn’t pay. She transferred the money but the caller demanded another $2,800. She wired that, too, but canceled when she realized it was a scam.

High-velocity rock. A couple living in the 49900 block of Laurelglen Lane, Highlands Ranch, saw March 29 that the rear driver’s side window of their Honda Pilot had been shattered. Police found a golf ball-sized rock sitting in the rear of the vehicle.

Company car raided. A man living in the 1300 block of Fox Hollow Place, Castle Rock, drove his company car home April 26 and left it unlocked in his driveway. Someone later entered it and stole his company fuel card, flashlight and camera.

Second door holds fast. A neighbor in the 3800 block of Black Feather Trail, Castle Rock, called police April 26 after seeing that a door to the garage of a nearby house was dented and the trim was hanging off the frame. Someone had kicked in that door but could not get through an interior door into the home.
