Children playing on a bouncy castle at an elementary school in Henderson were treated by paramedics on scene Friday after the inflatable structure malfunctioned.

The incident happened at about 3 p.m. at Henderson Elementary School, 12301 E. 124th Ave., said Kevin Denke, a Brighton 27J School District spokesman.

Students at the school were taking part in a field day. Local firefighters were already on scene interacting with kids, including spraying some with water hoses to keep them cool.

When the bouncy castle mishap occurred, firefighters called paramedics to the scene.

Eight students and one adult were evaluated for minor injuries, no one had to be taken to hospital, Denke said.

Parents were notified of the situation, Denke said. Field day at the school wrapped up without further mishap.
