A 54-year-old Colorado Springs woman whose body was found Thursday has been identified as the victim of a homicide.
Virginia Lee Hampton was found Thursday morning in the suffering from blunt force injuries, according to Colorado Springs police and the El Paso County Coroner’s Department. Officials were first called to make a welfare check.
An autopsy to determine the cause Hampton’s death is scheduled Friday.
Dennie Duece Weaver, 24, has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder.
No other suspects are being sought in this case.
