I-25 near Colorado City was closed Friday morning after a truck hauling butane crashed.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 25 south of Pueblo have reopened on Friday after crews finished  that was hauling butane.

The closure began about 9 a.m. at exit 92 near Colorado City. It was lifted about 1:30 p.m.

Officials say motorists should still expect delays in the area.

The Colorado State Patrol said the tractor-trailer crashed Thursday morning in a fiery rollover wreck in the interstate’s southbound lanes. The driver was hurt critically after being trapped in its burning cab.

He was taken to Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo before being flown by helicopter to another hospital for further treatment, said Trooper Alisha Danko.

Danko says because the tractor-trailer showed structural damage, the butane aboard had be removed before the rig could be moved.

Authorities had to cease clearing the wreck Thursday after severe weather moved in.
