Ongoing. Colorado Public Radio continues to expand its local programming, this time with a new weekly show called “Music Forward” focusing on contemporary classical. CPR’s Matt Weesner guides the Saturday evening explorations of music penned by composers from the last half-century — so expect sonic pleasures from the likes of John Corigliano, Esa Pekka Salonen, Phillip Glass, Steve Reich and other modern masters. The program arrives just as CPR is gearing up its annual “SummerFest,” featuring live broadcasts from concerts in Aspen, Vail and other warm-weather music meccas. CPR Classical is at 88.1 FM.
