Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, a fast-casual chain backed by such investors as LeBron James, is opening its first pizzeria in Colorado on Thursday in Broomfield. To generate buzz, the restaurant isgiving away build-your-own pizzas on Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to everyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

“Based on previous Free Pizza Days, we expect to give out around 1,500 free pizzas,” said spokesman Joshua Levitt. “Our record is 2,100 free pizzas given out, and we’d love to beat that at our first Colorado location.”

Blaze Pizza, which opened in California in 2012, last year placed second onFast Casual’s Annual List of “Top 100 Movers & Shakers” and operates 129 restaurants in 29 states, in such cities as Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

In Colorado, they’re joining a competitive pizza scene, including such places as , and Pie Five Pizza.

At Blaze, the pizzas cost about $8 and feature thin-crusts with customized ingredients. The menu also includes salads, blood orange lemonade and s’more pies. Levitt says the Broomfield location (4700 W. 121st Ave.) will feature a selection of wine and craft beer in the near future.
