Opens Saturday. The traveling “Awkward Family Photos” exhibit, which began as a website from Mike Bender and went viral, comes to History Colorado on Saturday with a lovingly replicated living room (think floral pattern couches and ceramic cats) featuring more than 200 snapshots and “behind the awkwardness” stories from real families. Visitors can also visit a DIY photo studio and meet co-curators Mike Bender and Doug Chernack from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 18. The exhibit complements “By Their Hats, Horses, and Homes, We Shall Know Them,” a historic photography studio recreation and display. 1200 Broadway. $10-$12 for adults. Free for 18 and under. .
