Q: How did you get involved in this business?
:My interest in health care was really sparked while working at a juice bar in Wild Oats during college. I saw people healing themselves and getting healthy through juicing and cleansing and it made me realize the value in alternative medicine. When my best friend, Jake Simpson, began practicing as chiropractor, my interest in alternative therapies grew deeper. We were already operating a medical spa, so the idea of taking a more holistic approach to the business made sense. We are extremely passionate about functional health and knew that if we combined that passion with state-of-the-art technology it would have a significant impact for our clients seeking esthetic improvements.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Aria Integrative Health is a full-service wellness center that offers treatment and therapies for a variety of skin conditions and chronic conditions, such as arthritis, weight loss, and chronic pain. We offer treatment plans that are individualized for each client. Our competitors tend to either focus on the aesthetics side of the equation or limit their practice to personal training and nutritional counseling. We provide the best of both worlds by merging the latest laser technology and light therapies with personal lifestyle plans to achieve better results more quickly. In addition, everyone on staff is fully trained and certified and have tried the treatments themselves, so they are intimately familiar with what they are recommending.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
:What I like best about my line of work is being in the unique position of being able to show everyone that walks in the door how not only better but feel better. Itap truly a joy to see people leave healthier than when they started. We love truly helping people and I believe that is exactly what we do.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: One of our biggest challenges is to educate consumers about our unique approach and separate ourselves from the typical laser treatment clinic. We are not just a weight-loss center, we are an integrative health center offering a wide variety of services for better health and wellness.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: People would be surprised to know that I helped create one of our most popular services, the LightPod (photo bio stimulation) treatment, which emits red and near-infrared light to stimulate weight loss and treat a variety of other ailments. This device is changing the way people look at weight loss and healing. Photo bio stimulation is being used by the Brazilian Olympic athletes for muscle recovery. Many of the athletes who have used the photo bio stimulation device have set personal best records. Nike has also purchased a photo bio stimulation device that will be used by some of the USA Olympic athletes.
