Denver firefighters say a golden retriever appears to be recovering after being rescued from a house blaze Friday.

Officials say the dog was pulled out of the home on the 5600 block of East Amherst Avenue about 2:30 p.m. Firefighters performed CPR on the dog and treated it for smoke inhalation.

The Denver Fire Department later reported the dog appeared to be OK and was wagging its tail on the way to being checked out by a veterinarian.

No one inside the home was injured.
