Starting later this month, Englewood residents can rest assured that the din of hammers, saws and cranes throughout the city will be less bothersome as new hours for construction activity go into effect.

City leaders recently passed a measure that reduces construction, allowing it from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Previously, workers could move dirt and pour foundations in the city from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The new hours go into effect July 23.

The decision was based on a recommendation from the Englewood Code Enforcement Advisory Committee, a volunteer citizen board that was tasked with researching the issue after complaints from residents.
