Two suspects allegedly played on the sympathy of a good Samaritan by getting the man to pull over to help and then robbed the person at gunpoint.
Colorado Springs were called at 1:27 a.m. to 1545 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. in Tinseltown about a report of a robbery, according to a Colorado Springs Police Department report.
The good Samaritan told authorities he had pulled over to help two people who were inside a red car waving their arms to flag him down. He assumed they needed some help with directions or something.
But after the good Samaritan stopped, got out of his car and walk toward the two persons seated inside a car, he quickly learned that the plea for help was a ploy.
A skinny man in a dark hoodie, who was sitting in the passenger seat, pulled out a gun and demanded the man’s wallet. The man handed over his cash, the police report says.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was also wearing a dark hoodie.
The suspects fled toward Venetucci Road, the police report says.
The good Samaritan described the red vehicle as a 1990s or early 2000s Ford Taurus. The license plate was a Colorado plate and may have the numbers “46” and the letters “VO” in it. The numbers are first.
