Joe Scott, former University of Denver basketball coach, hired at Holy Cross

Scott was let go from the University of Denver following the 2015-16 college basketball season

After 16 years as a head coach in Division I college basketball, Joe Scott is joining Bill Carmody’s coaching staff at Holy Cross as an assistant coach.

Carmody made the announcement Monday, saying Scott would join his staff June 1.

after the 2015-16 season. His nine DU teams posted a 146-132 overall record, shared the Western Athletic Conference title in 2012-13 and advanced into the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).

Prior to coaching the Pioneers, Scott coached Princeton, his alma mater, from 2004-07.

from 2000-04. His last team at Air Force won the Mountain West Conference title, posted a 22-7 record and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time in 42 years.

Scott was an assistant coach on Carmody’s staff at Princeton before taking the Air Force job.
