Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting that happened in a Taco Bell parking lot Sunday afternoon that left one person dead, according to police.
About 2:45 p.m. Sunday, police received reports of shots fired at 1507 S. Nevada Ave. Initials reports from witnesses reveal the incident might have been the result of road rage, but witnesses and involved parties are still being interviewed by police, Lt. Darrin Abbink said.
Abbink said the two involved parties were in the parking lot of the Taco Bell, one inside of a vehicle and the other outside. The victim outside of the vehicle was shot and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital Central.
“Officers are still out there reconstructing the events, trying to see if Taco Bell had any cameras, talking to witnesses to the event … just trying to put together what happened,” Abbink said.
Abbink also said all involved have been contacted, but it was unclear if a suspect was in custody while police determine what happened.
