Get your home team ready for 2 p.m. on July 28. Thatap when half-price tickets for Denver Broncos home games go on sale for the upcoming season. All aboard
Make a beeline for this celebration. The light rail system is expanding once again. On track for July 25 is the grand opening celebration of RTD’s new B Line at the Westminster Station. The event starts at 10 a.m., with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony — followed by free rides on the new B line until 9 p.m. Festivities run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lots of family-friendly activities and live music. On July 30, the celebrating continues at Union Station from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at Westminster Station from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with family-friendly games, food, entertainment, giveaways and live music. Plus, there is a fireworks show at 9 p.m. RTD is topping off the day by providing free rides on the entire light rail system on July 30 from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. rtd-denver.com
State of mind
For the fifth year, 7NEWS is celebrating Colorado’s birthday. (We’re 140 years old!) This year, the stately affair takes place at Belmar (464 S. Teller St.) on July 29 from 2 to 8 p.m. The first 1,000 people in attendance will receive a free Colorado T-shirt. There will be live music on two stages, local food vendors, family-friendly activities and giveaways. Plus, viewers can meet some of their favorite 7NEWS reporters. Kids will also enjoy a soccer demo with the Colorado Rapids Street Team.
