
Car thief’s escape goes up in smoke. Police responded to reports that a red BMW was stolen from the parking lot of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, 8081 E. Orchard Road, Greenwood Village, on June 21. Police eventually tracked the vehicle to Village Greens Park where they encountered two men, one leaning over the open driver’s side door of the BMW and another doing the same in another car. Police arrested both men. The suspected car thief was smoking marijuana in the BMW.
Intoxicated man arrested. Police checked on an intoxicated man sitting on the curb near South Broadway and East Quincy Avenue in Englewood on July 2. He was found to have heroin and drug paraphenalia in his possession and was arrested.
Cops seek robber. Police are seeking a man who robbed a business in the 4300 block of South Broadway, Englewood, just after 9 a.m. on July 8. The man fled to the west before police arrived.
Drama at Dairy Queen. An employee of Dairy Queen, 4650 S. Yosemite St., Greenwood Village, reported that a fellow employee assaulted him June 25. The victim said he and two other men were closing the store that night. When he asked one of them to close and lock the door as they left, the other employee became agitated and pushed him to the ground causing scrapes to his elbow and knee. The other employee, the manager, did not intervene. The victim did not want to pursue charges at that time but wanted to make a record in advance of future interactions with his coworker.
