A 43-year-old Denver man has been identified as the barefoot skier who was killed Sunday at Standley Lake Regional Park in a boating accident, officials say.

Theodore Radey was killed in the accident that happened around noon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Westminster police will not file charges linked to the accident, according to a news release by Cheri Spottke, police spokeswoman.

Radey was holding onto a boom attached to a boat, and when the boom tore away from the boat, it injured him, authorities have said.

They sometimes hold onto a boom, which is a pole that hangs over the boat and allows them to ski alongside the boat.
