Fort Collins police say a parental kidnapping Thursday night prompted an Amber Alert that was issued for a  5-year-old girl who has since been found safe.

Investigators were trying to serve 30-year-old Lauren Perotti with an order to relinquish custody of her daughter, Annalee Keller, when she “recklessly” fled in a vehicle, authorities say.

Officers were able to confirm that Keller was in the vehicle with her mother, police say, and the Amber Alert was issued.

Early Friday morning, police found police found Perotti’s vehicle abandoned on Drake Road in Fort Collins. At 5:32 a.m., both Perotti and Annalee were located on the 1500 block of Casa Grande Boulevard, according to investigators.

“(Annalee) was unharmed, and Perotti was arrested,” police said in a news release.

Perotti is suspected of second-degree kidnapping, child abuse and vehicular eluding.

The Amber Alert was deactivated about 5:45 a.m.
