Two teenage boys used a silver pipe to shatter more than 20 classroom windows and several other glass doors at Montessori Peaks Academy and then managed to dodge deputies in a foot chase.

The youths — from the ages of 13 to 15 — caused about $10,000 in damage to the school, according to a news release by Mark Techmeyer, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Neighbors of the school at 9904 W. Capri Ave. heard glass breaking and a consistent banging noise. When they looked out their windows, they saw two people on the side of the school, the news release says.

The first teen is described as as wearing a black T-shirt and a black pair of pants and black prescription glasses. He had black hair.

The other teen had a green T-shirt, blue pants and blond hair.

Each of them was carrying a 6-foot silver pipe. When the suspects saw the deputy, they dropped the pipes and ran.

The deputy pursued them on foot but lost sight of them. Officers also used K-9s but were unable to track the suspects.
