Heavy rain is possible Wednesday in the Denver area, mostly in the afternoon.

“We could get heavy rain at times, but nothing crazy — like a full day of rain,” said Natalie Gusack, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.

It will be breezy with wind gusts up to 20 mph. The high temperature will be about 72 degrees, according to the NWS.

The chance for precipitation is about 30 percent Wednesday afternoon.

Snow is possible above 12,000 feet in elevation, Gusack said. It is currently raining in the northeast corner of Colorado, she said.

The temperature will drop to around 48 degrees overnight, according to the NWS.

It will be breezy again on Thursday when the high will be around 76 degrees. Winds out of the east could gust up to 30 mph. There is a 30 percent chance for rain.

Friday will be very similar, with breezy conditions, isolated afternoon rain and thunder and a high temperature of around 79 degrees, according to the NWS.

It will begin to gradually warm up on the weekend, with highs of 83 and 84 expected Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The first part of next week temperatures will be in the middle 80s.
