Re: ÌıAug. 30 news story.
I was pleased to see that Gov. JohnÌıHickenlooper is supportive of further efforts to discussÌıfracking in Colorado, even though two anti-fracking initiativesÌıdid not make the ballot.
Coupled with the Clean Power Plan, which sets the first federal limit on global warming pollution from power plants, support for anti-fracking measures isÌıcritical to avert the worst impacts of climate change. We need our elected officials taking more steps like this.
The draft of Hickenlooper’sÌıexecutive order on curbing carbon emissions was a promising first step towards making Colorado aÌımodelÌıfor acting on climate. Colorado should focus exclusively on energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy to meet the goals of this policy.
