Re: Sept. 22 business news story.
Whatap wrong with this picture? An airport exists in the same location for many years. Everyone knows that planes taking off and landing at that airport make noise. Developers, knowing full well that airports are noisy environments, still ask city planners to approve residential developments near the airport. The planners approve the development in spite of their knowledge that airports are noisy environments. The housing development is built in proximity to the noisy airport. Prospective home buyers looking at the homes near the airport are aware that noisy airplanes are taking off and landing. They buy the home in spite of their knowledge of the proximity to a noisy airport. Then they file noise complaints about the noisy airport. The adage “You can’t fix stupid!” really applies here.
