Colorado Springs police are investigating after possible human remains were found Monday morning near Penrose Hospital.
Investigators were called out to the 2500 block of North Cascade Avenue at about 11 a.m. on reports of “suspicious circumstances.”
“During the subsequent investigation, officers determined that potential human remains had been located,” police said in a news release.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s major crimes unit is investigating.
“This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time,” the release said.
Sgt. Tim Stankey, a police spokesman, said more information could be released later in the week, but he didn’t have details to release on Monday afternoon.
