Rockies second baseman this year, finishing with a .348 average. LeMahieu’s accomplishment didn’t go unnoticed as his alma mater, Louisiana State University, took out a billboard advertisement in Denver to show support for the former LSU Tiger.
LeMahieu spent two seasons wearing the purple and gold for the Tigers before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2009 MLB draft. LeMahieu was acquired by the Rockies after being traded by the Cubs in 2011 for Ian Stewart and Casey Weathers.
