A stolen vehicle was intentionally driven into a police cruiser before fleeing Friday night in Colorado Springs.

Officers had attempted to contact the occupants in the vehicle, who had reportedly thrown a beer bottle at a security guard, on La Salle Street near Union Boulevard. Before that could happen, the vehicle smashed into a police cruiser, which had an officer inside, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Police say a pursuit was cut short due to slick road conditions and have so far been unable to locate the suspects. The vehicle was reported stolen in November.

The officer inside the cruiser has been treated and released from a local hospital.
