I smell a thief. The owner of Roots Acupuncture & Herbs, 7200 E. Dry Creek Road, Centennial, discovered Nov. 18 that her cash box was missing. She last saw it the day before. She said she normally locks it in a cabinet when she is in the back with clients, but must have forgotten. The box contained $200 cash and a check. She remembered a strong cologne smell in the lobby the day before, but never saw who it belonged to.
Concealed cutlery. A sheriff’s deputy saw a homeless man on a median in the 9200 block of East Dry Creek Road, Centennial, on Nov. 11 and stopped to talk to him. The man had a warrant for failure to appear so the deputy cuffed him. The man was carrying an illegal butterfly knife with a 3.5-inch blade.
Great balls of fire. A man’s truck was stolen Nov. 8 when he left it running in front of his home in the 4200 block of South Lipan Street, Englewood. The black pickup with orange flames was recovered the next day in Denver. A suspect was arrested.
Need drill to fix trailer. A man discovered Nov. 11 that the latch had been pried off his storage trailer in the 500 block of West Bates Avenue, Englewood, and his electric drill, charger and battery had been stolen from within.
Punch drunk. A man reported that a woman punched him in the face at Felt bar, 101 W. Floyd St., Englewood, on Nov. 11 after recognizing him as a friend of her children’s father. The man, who was very drunk, said he told the woman her kids’ father had died and she hit him for lying. The man went to the hospital to be checked out. The case was deactivated for lack of suspect information.
