Doughnut devastation. On Nov. 11, a couple living in the 9100 block of Oberon Road, Arvada, got into a physical altercation over a doughnut. The male suspect grabbed the female victim by her throat. She contacted the police and the suspect was cited with third degree assault domestic violence.
Leaving clues. On Nov. 22, Arvada police responded to the 6800 block of Simms Street where they found that sections of a wooden fence had been knocked down by a car. Officers discovered a license plate in the wreckage and car fluids that left a trail all the way to the suspectap home. When officers contacted the suspect, he admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. The suspect was ticketed for failing to notify the police of an accident, driving under the influence and careless driving.
Hangry driver. A woman in her vehicle in the drive-thru of Taco Bell, 4795 Kipling St., Wheat Ridge, was rear-ended by the car behind her Nov. 26 . The suspect car then drove away, but the victim followed. Once the suspect noticed the tailing victim, he got out of his car and began throwing large rocks at the victim’s vehicle causing damage. Police arrived and the suspect refused to perform any roadside tests. He was taken the police department for processing.Staged break-in. Arvada police were called to the 7000 block of Otis Street at 3:56 a.m. Nov. 24 on a report of burglary. Upon arrival police were told that an Xbox One, a 32-inch Vizio television and a car were stolen. Officers noted the victim was under the influence of alcohol. While searching the premises, two friends of the victim told officers his report was false. The missing Xbox and TV were found in a neighbor’s yard and the car was found damaged down the street. The victim admitted to crashing the car and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Guilty Conscience. On Nov. 24, a man was drinking in his home in the 11500 block of West 61st Place, Arvada, when he decided to turn himself in on an active warrant. Police arrived at the home and the suspect told officers “I’m ready to go to jail.” After a search in the statewide database, it was noted that the suspect had an active warrant for a DUI and was the restrained party in a restraining order. He was arrested and taken to the Arvada police department.
