Prosecutors on Tuesday in an Adams County home invasion last week.

Ronnie Williams, 35, and Corey Carrol, 25, are suspected of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and four counts of aggravated robbery.

The men — who are also accused of a crime of violence as a sentence enhancer — are next due in court Jan. 6 for a preliminary hearing and are being held at the county jail without bail.

The pair are accused of fatally shooting 55-year-old Steven Kent  near Brighton. The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said Kent lived there with his mother.

Carrol was also wounded in the home invasion, according to Sgt. Jim Morgen, an Adams County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Investigators have not said what motivated the killing.
