Three people were killed when a wrong-way driver crashed into an SUV in the northbound lanes of I-25 north of Pueblo early Friday, Colorado State Patrol said.

A 71-year-old Washington man driving south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near Pueblo smashed his pickup truck head-on into another pickup Thursday night, killing himself in addition the 51-year-old driver of the other truck and her juvenile passenger.

The names of the victims have not been released, pending notifications of family members.

The child was not wearing a seat belt. The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was from Colorado Springs, according to a news release by Colorado State Patrol Trooper M.R. Tafoya.
