Colorado Springs police were executing a search warrant Thursday afternoon when an officer shot an armed juvenile male who was wanted as a suspect in multiple violent crimes, according to investigators.
The officer-involved shooting happened at about 3 p.m. in the 800 block of Chapman Drive, at the Pine Creek Village apartments, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The juvenile, who suffered serious injuries, was taken to a local hospital.
No police officers were injured. The officer’s name was not released.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Deadly Force Incident Team is investigating the shooting.
