Congressman Mike Coffman shows bald contempt for his constituents, like me, when he says that “partisan activists” showed up at his meeting at the Aurora Central Library lastSaturday “with the goal of making a show.” What’s another term for “partisan activists,” Mr. Coffman? It’s “voters.” What’s another term for “making a show”? It’s “to petition the government for redress of grievances,” a right conveyed verbatim on all citizens by the First Amendment. Coffman’s attempt to demean and minimize the concern of his constituents is appalling.
