An arrest warrant has been issued for a 38-year-old woman accused of throwing rocks at the Pueblo County jail on Valentine’s Day in what authorities say was a criminal effort to get her love interest’s attention.

The woman, whose name is being withheld pending her arrest, is suspected of criminal mischief.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies found a broken window on the jail’s second floor just before midnight on Tuesday.

“During the investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance video and saw an individual throwing rocks at the building,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “The suspect was identified through that surveillance video. Deputies learned the suspect has a relationship with an individual who is incarcerated in the Detention Center.”

The sheriff’s office says the woman has been questioned but not yet arrested. An investigation into her expression of love remains ongoing.
