Kickin’ it with Kiz: DeMarcus Ware back to Cowboys, Tony Romo to Broncos in free-agent swap

Broncos must take a long, hard look at Romo if he hits the free-agent market.

The Broncos need to re-sign linebacker ! But don’t play him until the second half of the season. Keep Ware fresh, and let handle the bulk of regular-season snaps.

— Martha, Denver

Kiz: Listen, and you can hear the clunky, rusty gears in my noggin turning. Here’s a modest proposal: How about the Broncos let Ware go back to Dallas and the Cowboys let walk to Denver? Then we’ll all keep score, tracking which old veteran can do more damage in 2017.

You continue to disparage quarterback for his lackluster stats, overlooking the fact he played behind the worst offensive line in Broncos history. Even Tom Brady, and, yes, would have struggled behind such pitiful support.

— Irv, Denver

Kiz: I’ve got nothing against “Skittles” Siemian. But like his favorite candy, he’s a sugar buzz, sweet but not satisfying long-term. Siemian had the support of one of the best defenses in team history and two all-star receivers, yet failed to lead his team to the playoffs. The Broncos must take a long, hard look at Romo.

I have lived and died with these Broncos for going on 50 years. Whenever running backs and have two good runs, they tap themselves on the helmet, wanting a breather. It drives me nuts. I watched Pittsburgh’s Le’Veon Bell carry the rock eight straight times on Kansas City in the playoffs. It was beautiful. If Anderson were to carry eight straight plays, the Broncos would have to haul him off on a stretcher. What gives?

— Gary, Mequite, Nev.

Kiz: Makes you appreciate all the more, eh? Anderson is a keeper. But he and Booker seem like a bad combination. The cries for Denver to draft will only grow louder.

There’s chatter Jacksonville will cut tight end . What are the chances the Broncos bring him back as pass-catching tight end?

— John, Indianapolis

Kiz: We here at Kickin’ It Headquarters always liked Thomas for his red-zone production and intelligent conversation, unlike some at Dove Valley headquarters that considered him more squeezably soft than a jumbo pack of toilet paper. But don’t count on Thomas wearing a Broncos uniform again, even if the Jaguars cut him. It seems more feasible Thomas could reunite with his old friend Adam Gase in Miami, rather than his old detractors in Colorado.

Nikola Jokic is the best passing big man Denver has seen since .

— Jace, laughing ’til it hurts

Kiz: Now thatap funny. But here’s guessing the would take Jokic over Osweiler in a heartbeat … as a center or a quarterback.

And today’s parting shot sounds suspiciously like whining from a whiny New York Knicks fan.

Your statement that Jokic is a better player than Kristaps Porzingis is stupid. Jokic runs his system in Denver. Porzingis is the third option in the Knicks offense to Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose. Not fair!
