Re: “,” Feb. 23 news story.

As an employee of the Jefferson County Public Library, I want to register my disgust with Jeffco Commissioner Don Rosier’s policing of the library’s Twitter account. His actions, in conjunction with those of Pam Nissler, the library’s executive director, amount to nothing less than censorship at a time when the nation can ill afford to censor one of its last untarnished democratic institutions.

Rosier is only partially correct when he says the library seems to be in opposition to our nation’s leadership: we are not opposed to the current leadership, per se, so much as we are opposed to the blatant falsehoods it seems fond of peddling.

The tweets reflect the commitment of Jeffco librarians to oppose misinformation by providing the public access to the facts. Rather than fixating on appearances, perhaps Rosier should explore some of the resources promoted by the library’s Twitter account. After all, it never hurts to learn something new.
