Tornado fears lead to broken glass. On Feb. 17, Denver police responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of 15th Street where a woman was “freaking out.” A witness said the woman feared a tornado was approaching and kicked the glass on one of the doors in the front lobby. The suspect was located by police and checked out by paramedics.

Detox disturbance. Police responded to a disturbance Feb. 18 at the Denver Cares Detox Facility, 1155 Cherokee St., where a client was making noise and disturbing others. He was described by staff as verbally aggressive and made racial slurs. He refused to be quiet and said he would rather go to jail than return to his room.

Workplace fight. On Feb. 17, police responded to a workplace dispute where a woman was assaulted in the 2400 block of West Second Avenue. The woman said she was approached by another woman who initiated the fight and then took a swing at her. The suspect hit a staff member who was trying to intervene and then later hit the victim.

Refusal to pay. A man was cited Feb. 18 after he was unable to pay his bill at Lucky Strike in the Denver Pavilions, 500 16th St. The suspect had a bill of $90.72 and his credit card was declined several times. He was issued a summons and released.

Theft and assault. On Feb. 19, employees at Mercado Discount Store, 3490 W. Alameda Ave., called police to report a theft in progress. The reporting party noted that a woman had tried to take several items and leave without paying. When the manager tried to stop her, she punched him the face and another man helped her get away.
