The Nuggets should receive reinforcements Friday night as they continue their pursuit of a playoff spot against the Celtics.

Forward Danilo Gallinari, who missed Wednesday’s loss to the Wizards while experiencing symptoms of vertigo, is expected to “give it a go” against Boston, Nuggets coach Michael Malone said.

, who has missed the Nuggets’ last two games because of the flu, returned to the practice court for the first time in a week during the team’s shootaround Friday morning, but his status against the Celtics remains up in the air.

“Nikola was here this morning but went through parts of shootaround,” Malone said. “I’d say he’s still very questionable for tonight. But Gallo will give it a go, and it will be great to have him back. We have 18 games to go, man. We need everybody to step up and play through some pain and discomfort if you have to because there’s a lot on the line.”

Forward Kenneth Faried is expected to miss his seventh straight game with a lower back injury.

The Nuggets enter Friday’s game with a half-game lead over Portland for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
