Tower Road in Commerce City to close 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Monday

Crews are paving a temporary ramp, installing utilities

Tower Road will close fully in Commerce City, from East 96th Avenue to East 103rd Avenue, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. this weekend so that a temporary ramp can be paved and utilities can be installed.

The closure will begin on Friday and last through Monday evening.

Drivers heading south on Tower Road should turn right onto East 104th Avenue, left onto Chambers Road, left onto East 96th Avenue, right onto the Buckley Road detour and then right onto Tower Road. Drivers heading north should turn left onto the existing detour at East 88th Avenue, left onto East 96th. Avenue, right onto Chambers Road, right onto East 104th Avenue, and then left onto Tower Road.

Tower Road remains closed between East 88th and East 96th avenues through April as part of the Tower Road widening project, which will widen the road to two lanes in each direction between East 80th and East 103rd avenues, provide a dedicated bicycle lane and move overhead utilities underground.
